Responsible Use

Last updated: May 22, 2026

We built Draftlyn because writing well is hard, and a lot of AI-generated text sounds like it. The humanizer exists to help writers polish their work — not to help anyone cheat, deceive, or harm. This page explains where we draw the line.

What Draftlyn is good for

  • Refining your own draft so it reads more naturally.
  • Editing AI-assisted notes for blog posts, emails, or marketing copy you'll publish under your own name.
  • Tightening rambling text into something a reader will actually finish.
  • Adapting tone — making formal text friendlier, or casual text more polished.
  • Translating internal brand voice into consistent customer-facing copy.

What Draftlyn is not for

  • Submitting humanized AI text as your own original work for graded coursework, in violation of your school's policies.
  • Producing content designed to deceive readers about who wrote it where authorship is legally or ethically required.
  • Generating disinformation, fake reviews, harassment, or impersonation content.
  • Mass-producing low-value SEO spam intended to game search rankings.
  • Anything illegal in your jurisdiction or covered by our Terms of Service.

A note for students

Many schools and universities consider submitting AI-generated text — even heavily edited — as a form of academic dishonesty. Some explicitly forbid tools like ours; others permit them with disclosure. The rules vary by institution, course, and assignment.

Know your institution's policy before you submit anything. If you're not sure, ask your instructor. Using Draftlyn to bypass an honor code or a no-AI policy is a violation of those policies, and we don't endorse it.

A note for publishers and marketers

If you publish Draftlyn output as your own work, take ownership of it. Read it. Fact-check it. Make sure it represents your views and meets the editorial standards you'd apply to anything else under your byline.

Many platforms (Google Search, Amazon, news sites) have policies about AI-generated content. Following them is your responsibility.

Why our humanizer exists at all

AI-generated text often suffers from rhythmic flatness, overused phrases, and a kind of corporate evenness that no real human writes with. Cleaning that up is an editorial task — the same task a human editor has always done for human writers. We built Draftlyn to do that task at scale.

The fact that the humanized output reads more naturally is not a hack — it's the point. Whether that's appropriate for your specific use case is on you to decide, in good faith.

What we do when we see abuse

If we detect or are notified of accounts being used for prohibited purposes (spam, harassment, illegal content, etc.), we may suspend or terminate them without refund. In serious cases — for example, content involving the safety of children — we report to the appropriate authorities.

Tell us if we get it wrong

If you think our humanizer is producing or being used for content that shouldn't be, please tell us at draftlyne.humanizer@gmail.com or via the contact form. We take reports seriously and respond to every one.
